Can I change the account order in thunderbird?

Something went wrong with my primary IMAP account, so I deleted it and re-added it. Thats ok, but its now the second account in the ordering of accounts, after a much less used imap account. One consequence is when thunderbird is invoked with a mail:to it uses the less desirable account.

Is there a way for me to switch the order, without deleting and readding the less used account?

Account settings - select account - set as default on account action (where you have also add account, remove, etc)
