I have come across someone doing this before and I was with them at the time, so could observe what was happening. Unfortunately they had developed a habit which they were unware they were doing and it related to how they positioned their hands whilst using the keyboard.
You must be invoking the 'Send' by using a combination of shortcut keys. Often, you may use the 'Enter' key whilst typing to go to a new line, but if you symultaneously press the 'Ctrl' key the you can invoke a send instruction.
There are two 'Ctrl' keys on the keyboard and you are accidentally depressing one of them when you click on 'Enter'. This occurs due to the position you holding your hands whilst typing and it could be the outside edge of little finger near the palm that is the culprit.
Hi.. I do understand it could happen but the problem is not just of sending the mail but it is not showing in my sent item. As per my mailbox the mail which were received by the recipient are not shown in my sent item.
This is the real problem.
Are you saying that none of your Sent emails, even those you do want to send, nothing is ever being stored in the 'Sent' folder? Why did you not say this the original question?
Are you using an IMAP mail account ? If yes: Make sure you have subscribed to see the server default 'Sent' folder which may be called 'Sent' or 'Sent Items' or 'Sent Mail', but it must be the default Sent folder as set by the server. You could logon to the webmail account via a browser and check to see the name of the server 'Sent' folder. I have heard of some people having more than one 'Sent' folder, they could see both a 'Sent' folder and 'Sent Mail' folder, but only one of them was the default used by the server. It is usually the one listed near the top. If in doubt, whilst in webmail account send an email to someone and check to see what folder it is automatically placed into.
To subscribe;
- Right click on imap mail account name folder in Folder Pane and select 'Subscribe'
- Select folders and click on 'Subscribe'
- click on OK
Now make sure the account is using it.
- Right click on imap mail account name folder in Folder Pane and select 'Settings'
- Select 'Copies & folders' for imap account
- Select checkbox 'Place a copy in'
- Select 'Other' and choose the correct Sent folder on the imap account
- click on OK
Restart Thunderbird to ensure all gets updated correctly.

You might also make sure "Confirm when using a keyboard shortcut to send message" is checked in Options / Composition.
