Project mailing list (listserve) question

I subscribe to several "mail lists" (Debian User, Cygwin for example).

When I post a new question and answer an existing question, I don't see my contribution in the list. If I go to the list's web presence and look for the thread I'm in, I do find my contributions, which is why I think this is a Thunderbird thing.

Can anyone say if this is for sure a Thunderbird "feature" or is it a list feature?

Thanks.

Bob

Is your incoming mail via Google.... It is certainly a feature of their "service" to hide mail incoming that your sent to a listserv.

Just checking as that is the usual answer to this question.

'Tis true, this is a gmail account. :(

If there is any info on how to turn this off, I'll take it.

Thanks.

Apart from saying it is a thorn in my side as well, and commiserating I can offer very little. I did however change Thunderbird settings to place a copy of sent mail in the folder containing the one I reply to. That is more about maintaining threads though and it does not work when I originate the topic.

You "might" get away with using a virtual folder for the list. (Ctr+Shift+F and save as a search folder) as that can bring the sent folder contents into the virtual folder in much the same way as right clicking and selecting show in conversation can. I just depends on how you manage your mail from the listserv if that would work for you. (The unified folder view is mostly virtual search folders if you are looking for them in use.)
