Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox? Look inside. Look for the folder with the latest creation date.

I see the folder, but when I click on it, I see nothing that says anything about bookmarks.

You would either need to restore places.sqlite from the main profile location or look for compressed .jsonlz4 backups in the bookmarkbackups folder.
