Mozilla Thunderbird major update requiring verification?

Hello,

I just received an e-mail from our mail domain - so it says.

The content of the email is as follows: There is a major update coming and in order for the update to take place, I need to verify my email. If I don't verify my email through the attachment on the email, my email account will be closed. The sender is [my email] Hosting Service Provider.

Is this a false mail? I just want to make sure before entering my password to the verification.

It appears to have a lot of the wording from https://peaceworks.ca/email_upgrade yet the email you got was worded in a way to try and get you to load the attachment.

It appears the email you got is a variant of email credentials phishing spam. https://www.pcrisk.com/removal-guides/16432-email-credentials-phishing

Hard to say without seeing the actual mail. But it could be bogus.

Hello,

Thank you for the reply!

Attached is a picture of the email. I have blackened the name of my email address for privacy reasons.

On the upper corner of the email is also a green square saying: " Notification: This notification was sent from a Trusted source.." (I noted the "T" is written in capital letter and there are two dots in the end...)

Does this help you further?
