I can't update firefox. message says: updates disabled by administator. firefox version 68.

how do i fix this and enable updates. in linuxmint 18.3

If you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution then you can look at Firefox from the Mozilla server if you want more control over updating.

hi, updates are probably handled through your distro's packet manager then.

geez, thank you !

spent a week downloading & trying to fix this. Installing from mozill.org did in fact install ver 79 and

not only that....but it now shows the update firefox link without the "disabled by administrator" msg.

never mind....i read somewhere to try synaptic....so i did and voila...it installed perfectly
