How to disable FF forcing downloaded PDFs to be opened in a browser?

Firefox now forces PDFs, even downloaded ones, to be opened in-browser. Frustrating is this setting has been introduced and right away replaced previous behaviour without any preceding notice, perfectly fine settings, now requiring to go to file explorer to open a PDF as if it was a file. How to disable this bloat?
