Hi, When I try to print an email from a web based email site, the print function takes much longer than usual to work. I tried refreshing Firefox and the printer function but it still continues. Any suggestions for how to fix this? This problem does not occur when I use Safari. Thanks!

(Printing from an email was much worse. My OS is MacOS Sierrra 10.12.6. Firefox version: 78.0.2 (64-bit)) Please let me know if you can think of how to improve upon this. Thanks for trying. Cheers, Garth

Hello again garth,

I think this is a printer issue not a browser.

Thank you,

Arman

Hi Arman,

It works fine in Safari Version 12.1.2 (12607.3.10). What I'm attempting to do is convert an email message from a web-based email account into a pdf file that I save to my computer. In order to do that I have to use the print function in the web-based email account. In Firefox 78.0.2 (64-bit) it's taking much longer to do than it used to and much longer than Safari. I deleted Firefox from my computer and reinstalled it. Same thing. Thanks for your attempt to help. Cheers, Garth

Hi Garth, is the problem on a popular site that forum volunteers could test (like Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc.)?

I think Firefox won't print if any part of the page is still loading. Could you check the toolbar and see whether the Stop-Reload button still shows Stop (the X icon)?

Another user reported problems with slow printing -- or a long delay before getting a error message when trying to print -- recently, but I don't know if it's related, but it's also on a Mac: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1294744

Hi jscher2000,

It's been happening for me on Telus webmail, Tutanota email, Protonmail and my Credit Union website.

Thanks for the link to question 1294744. It seems to be similar. I too have experienced this problem only since the last Firefox update.

Cheers, Garth
