moving stored email from old pc to new pc
old windows 7 computer died, looks like mother board went out. Have hard drive with all my wifes old thunderbird emails. Have new windows 10 up and running. is there a way I can retrieve her old emails and move them into the newly created windows 10 thunderbird?
Chosen solution
You could copy the entire Thunderbird folder from the old drive to the new one, but to recover just the mail folders, open the old profile folder in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\8characters.default, then open the Mail/<popserver>, ImapMail/<imapserver> and Mail/Local Folders subfolders, and copy the mbox files - large files with no extension, named after folders, e.g. Inbox - into Mail/Local Folders of the new profile folder, while TB is closed. The folders should appear under Local Folders in the Folder Pane when TB is restarted.
