Hello, I formatted my windows 8.1 pc due to some reasons then reinstalled. I installed TB and entered all POP details as usual, now, the problem is, TB is only downloading 2 weeks old emails and not more than that though my inbox on web server is having emails from 2012 and there is no option to apply any threshold/filter for any limitations. Please help me downloading all of my web server emails to my TB system.

Thank Danish

Are those emails in a folder other than Inbox, on the server?

No, thousands of emails are in server Inbox.

I truly don't see why Thunderbird, by default, doesn't fetch all those messages. You could try moving ALL the (server) messages to a different folder, then move them back to Inbox. Who is your email service provider?

I’ll try as you said. I’ve been using rediffmailpro an Indian service provider for years. I also never have any problem with TB as well!! Anyway, I’ll try and get back soon. Thanks.

Perhaps like Google they have some sort of web setting that prevents previously downloaded mail re downloading or only downloading mail for a set period in the past.

Thanks Matt for taking time, after Stans reply I contacted my service provider and they told me that they would activate POP3 session to download old emails, this is yet to be done. So, you are correct and I will update any progress once it is done.

If you become aware of a setting on their site you can change to get this to happen, please post that as well. It is always good to leave complete information for the next person to google the issue.

No, I can’t find any setting by myself. I’m still waiting to hear from them.
