Hi,Since the last update of TB, 1-In tools,if I open up account settings, the Screen is extremely Small & I cannot enlarge it 2-I have 3 email addresses listed & to me the Default email(for outgoing emails) is the email in Bold Print,But when I go to send any emails,It comes up with another one of my email addresses please assist Thank you Darryl

Chosen solution

Click the name of the 2nd account to highlight/select it, then at the bottom-left of the dialog, click the Account Actions menu button. From the drop down menu that appears, select Set as Default. This will change the 2nd account be the default (underlined). Close the dialog then Quit and relaunch Tbird. When Tbird reopens, the new default account will be listed at the top on the left (folder) pane. If you reopen the Account Settings dialog, the new default account will be at the top of the list and underlined.

You should be able to resize the Account Settings dialog. What happens when you place the mouse pointer at the bottom-right corner? It should turn into a double headed arrow allowing you to drag the dialog into a suitable size.

The From address that is selected when writing a new message varies with the context within which the "write" action is performed. For example, if you're viewing messages under account B then you write a new message, the sender address in the From field will default to account B's address. Doing the same from the Local Folders account will default to the address of the account that you've set as the default one in Account Settings. The same applies when you click a mailto link from an external source like a website and Tbird is your default mail program. The default account is always listed at the top on the left pane of the Account Settings dialog and the folder pane on the left of Tbird's main window.

Hi Stans. Thank you for your assistance,Your Suggestion of dragging the bottom Right hand Corner & in turn the the Bottom line of the dialog worked well(Thank you) Unfortunately, your suggestion of writing a new email, does not work eg;with your email open,I went to write a new email & my same email address as you are using did not come up,instead my 2nd email address came up(very frustrating) My default email out going is the same as the one you are using,But if I reply to a email sent to me,then the correct email address will come up BUT if I go to send a email (in General) my 2nd email address will come up I hope I have explained it correctly to you Thanks Darryl

Open the Account Settings dialog. On the left pane, your accounts are listed. All their names are bold and have an envelop icon before them, but only one of them is underlined and at the top of the list. In your case, is it the main/1st account that is underlined, or is it the 2nd/secondary account?

Hi Stans, You are correct, the 1st one is underlined & exploring a little further,it states that the 1st one is the Default It is very Confusing,as in the SMPT the default is not the same email address How can I Change the 1st email address that is under lined to the 2nd email address & therefore If I can change it,then the NOW 2nd Email address will become the 1st & under Lined & be the same as the SMPT Thanks Darryl
