Just upgraded to Thunderbird Version 77.0beta. Now all of my folders have no color. They are all just a folder icon that is white. This is awful.
Windows 10 operating system. I checked for updates and it automatically updated me to the recent version 77.0. Now all of my folders have no color to them. Very difficult to differentiate the folder hierarchy with this. Anybody else have this issue?

Hi Fulford0705
As SFHowes said earlier - in the Beta release developers try out features to get feedback.
If you don't like what is in the Beta version, simply switch to the release version. If you are a Beta tester, please send feedback to the developers rather than the user support forum.
Thanks!

It's not a bug, it's a feature.
How do we get color back to our folders? As is it all just blends together.
This is really bad and makes Thunderbird harder to use… Please revert to the previous color scheme as soon as possible.
Hmm! This is all sounding a little odd to this long time user. I've never had any control or choice of folder colour: they're all yellow. Currently using (TB v68.8.0, Windows 10) & having seen this question, can't find any way to change or set folder colours! What am I missing?

Colored Folders works here in 68.8/W10, but you may find it's incompatible with some add-ons, such as Phoenity Buttons.
As for the colorless folder icons in 77 (and the transparent notification area envelope icon), this may change by the time 78 is released. The developers sometimes present extreme changes to draw more feedback.
Aha! or rather 'Duh!' I never thought of an add on, thought the original poster was talking about something intrinsic to Thunderbird. Thank you for that.
sfhowe s thanks too for your reply to my other query on profile names: an introduction to the mysteries of profiles.ini. (Where I see the name has changed.) I'll read the article after I've had a night's sleep - Thanks (I imagine that's solved my worry but I didn't want to hit either 'solved' or 'didn't solve' until I'd understood it better and there's no 'post a reply link'.)

My problem is that they are not even yellow. All of the folders are basically a black outlined icon that is white in the center. There is no normal yellow folders and it makes everything just a bland bunch of folders that makes it hard to see any hierarchy in the file structure. Everything is just white and it looks like crap.
It is not an add-on issue. My business machine has Thunderbird on it and there is color to it that allows you to better differentiate between items. See the snip below.

Thanks for the response. Had not used the support forum before. My plan was to go back to the original anyway. Just wanted to point this out to those that might be thinking about going to that beta version. It's hard to believe that they would go to that in the beta version.
Good to know - I am sure someone lurks here and passes on user experience! It could be an unintended result of a minor change that does not interact well with your particular setup, existing view settings, add-ons or whatever.
To clarify the issue here is a snapshot comparing version 68.8.0 and version 77.0b2 on the same account, default theme, no add-ons:
