I've received 3 threatening, bit coin ransom emails. They are spam. Is there a way to report them to the authorities?
I've received 3 lengthy, threatening, bit coin ransom emails. The first 2 (from 2 different people, a few days apart) said they knew my password and knew the porn sites I had been visiting online (I don't visit porn sites online). Threatening to post "the videos of me" to all my Contacts unless I paid him 200 bit coin. I did not open the email (I read it in a preview screen), I did not click on any links, I marked it as Junk and I deleted it. I knew it was spam. A few days later I received the same email but from a different person. Today I opened my junk folder to clear it out and there's another email (from 3 days ago) threatening me to not ignore this and upped the ransom with a time limit (which has long expired). What should I do?

Hi Patti, in the U.S., you can report online crimes to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center:
https://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
I don't know about other countries.
