Why do images get sent at full resolution, eventhough dimensions are reduced in image properties and when in inline with text in an email?

When I compose an email and insert images into the body of the text, the images are reduced in my view of the email, but when they go out they are sent at full resolution. 1. Images are inserted into an email. When the dimensions tab is opened on the image properties box, and the dimensions are adjusted the images size changes in the email but still sends the full size image instead of the reduced image. 2. the check box for adding the image as an attachment seems to not work. the reduced dimensions are not sent out and the full file size is sent instead of the reduced dimensions.

This is pretty sad. Fix it soon.

This happens even when the box is unmarked that asks if you would like to send the image as an attachment. When you un-mark this check box, it should not add the additional image back as an attachment. But it does anyways, that is why I am lead to believe this function isn't working properly. I have found an add-on also. TB isn't doing as it says it does. that's all.

I think there's some misunderstanding of what it means to adjust the size of an inserted image. The size set on the Dimensions tab affects the size of the image as displayed in the message, but the original, full sized image is attached. if you want to change the size of the attached image, resize it in an image editor or viewer before inserting it in the message. There is an add-on that performs this function.
