I just had a red “malware alert “ pop up and lock my screen. It had a number to call but I thought I better check here first. I just ran a quick scan and it came back clean. Is this legitimate or should I ignore it?

Mozilla does not provide support by phone. Any alerts or popups inferring the likelihood of malware from Mozilla is highly likely a scam. Please do NOT proceed with the alert you received.

In the future, what you can do if you spot a fake notice?
