Does Google try to scare people away from downloading Firefox?

more options

When I downladed Firefox on my android, I got a warning that my phone might be damaged. When I downloaded it on my laptop, the computer went into full alert mode, telling me a porn site was hacking me and I had to call a microsoft phone number immediately. I did not do so and had to shut down the alerts by pulling out the battery pack. Has anyone else experienced this nonsense?

On your desktop computer, can you find the link where you downloaded Firefox? The official version wouldn't start you off on a tech support scam page.

Hi

I am not aware of such issues. Downloading Firefox for Android is the easiest and safest way to get Firefox on your Android device. Likewise for a compuer, the best place to download Firefox from is from https://www.mozilla.org/.
