Thunderbird can't connect to services.addons.thunderbird.net. Error code: ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap.
After reinstalling Windows8 and Thunderbird I attempted to download an extension but got this message: Error connecting services.addons.thunderbird.net (I use Russian interface so I can’t say exactly what this message is in English). Error code^ ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap. Please contact the site owners and inform them about this problem. Nothing I tried helped so far. Safe mode boot didn’t help. Setting option security.tls.insecure_fallback_hosts didn’t help. I would appreciate any advice. Best regards, Vladimir Sokolov

Is that an error in Thunderbird or Firefox? Firefox error that sounds like yours: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1214366
Dear Toad-Hall, thank you very much but your advice did not help. This is a Thunderbird problem. I tried to find any pieces of advice entering error codes but didn't find anything useful. I also tried to apply some recipes that solve similar Firefox issues to Thunderbird but was unsuccessful.

Do you use BitDefender? BitDefender's Protection Shield. If yes, switch it off and retest.
I use Kaspersky Total Security. I have tried disabling it, I have tried Safe Mode booting with network drivers, none could help.
What version of Thunderbird are you using?
Is there anything cert related in the error console (Ctrl-Shift-J)?

Facepalm... I downloaded new versions of all programs I use before reinstalling Windows, but Thunderbird was the only one I somehow failed to obtain. So I just installed the version from the year 2013 I was using... What could possibly go wrong... :-)
Thank you very much again! Everything works fine now. (I have no idea why I didn't mention Thunderbird versin in the first message - something I should have done by default).
