Update T-Bird recently. Now, the order of Mail, Tasks, Calendar tabs defaults to an order I do not want. When I drag the task tab to the position I want, it does change...temporarily. When I close TB, and re-open, the order of the tabs goes back to the original order I don't want. Any way to change this permanently?

The order of tabs is retained here, after dragging the Tasks, Calendar and Options tabs in different orders and restarting. Open the profile folder (Help/Troubleshooting Information, click Open Folder), close TB, delete or rename session.json. Restart TB and test if the order is retained between restarts.

Tried the procedure twice, just to make sure, but the order still defaults back to the original that I don't want.

Guess I'll have to live with it.

Thanx for the effort. I thought that would work too.

There is a similar bug that deals with the failure to retain toolbar button layouts. As a test, I created a new profile in TB 68 using Profile Manager: close TB, Windows key+R, type thunderbird.exe -p

In the next step, it's not necessary to add an account. Open tabs for Tasks, Options and Calendar, and drag them into any order. Upon restart, the order is not retained. Note that in my first reply I found the tab order was retained in my normal profile, which was upgraded from TB 60 to 68. So, it seems both bugs occur in profiles created with TB 68, but not with profiles upgraded from TB 60.

Are you using the same profile in TB 68 that you used with TB 60, or a profile created by TB 68?

I was under the impression that TB68 imported my previous profile, as all the other info came up the same. But even when I delete the session, and xulstore it doesn't affect the default order from TB 68.
