I get a popup box telling me "Thunderbird can't update...", but I'm at the latest version

This has happened twice in the last couple of weeks. The message comes out of nowhere - I don't recall doing anything that might have elicited it. I'm at 68.1.0 (32-bit) on Windows 10 Pro (1903). I tried re-installing TB 68.1.0 and will wait to see if it happens a 3rd time. Has anyone else seen this message? ... On 9/25/19 this happened again. I have attached a screenshot. To be clear, this is the pop-up that appears in the upper right corner of the Thunderbird window.

Here it is. Today, I was able to update from 68.1.0 to 68.1.1 by using the latest kit from the Mozilla site. I'm ashamed to admit it, but it seems that I have been confusing Thunderbird help/about with Firefox help/about. At this point, I think this topic should be closed; I will mark it "solved". The only lingering concern I have is that TB was unable to update, but at this point I may not be able to recover enough information to enable a diagnosis. Thanks for the help... and sorry to have been such a "noisy channel"!
