bonjour, Dans Thunderbird, des ? entourés de losanges noirs remplacent les lettres accentuées dans mes messages reçus. exemple : Tout juste form�, l'attelage AG2R La Mondiale et Matmut, mastodonte embl�matique des r�cents rapprochements dans le monde de l'assurance fran�aise, a explos� de mani�re inattendue, son dirigeant �voquant des diff�rences de "culture".
comment réparer ? merci ! cg

If you are sending through a Yahoo-type account, you can try changing the mail.strictly_mime preference:
the mail.strictly_mime preference was already quoted true :(. i also already tried to change the utf8 things. do you think that reinstalling thunderbird can help ? in this case, will i lose the mails opened in my thbd installed version ?
Reinstalling the program seldom fixes problems like this, which are usuallyy related to choosing the correct character encoding for received mail. See if you can find any useful advice in these posts:

Your system details show that you're using Firefox as your
browser - now, this is a stab in the dark, but would you try this please :
Type in the address bar about:config and press Enter (promise to be careful, if asked)
Type in the search bar and look for the preference :
security.sandbox.content.level
Set its value to 2 (or try 3 and 4 first) (default value is 5 )
After you've changed a value, you need to close and restart Firefox.
If this doesn't make a difference, then change the value back to its default (5).
