I know I can use 'Save As' to use the download path defined in Preferences, but I need the 'Open' option to use that path too, not the /tmp/mozilla_db0/ it is currently.

As it stands I end up having to go through far too many clicks to empty that temp dir. Would be much easier if they all went to Desktop as is defined for 'Save As'.

firefox has the standard layout saves and open you have to open and save in that location before it changes in firefox.

Firefox uses the temp folder as set in the OS, so you would have to change (export) the environment variable that sets the temp folder via a bash script you use to start Firefox.
