import email list from Excell to Thunderbird

Im a new club secretary and I need to import an email list from excel to Thunderbird.most of our members chose to have their club information by email and some still wish to receive information be hard copy USPS mail.

How can I seperate those that wish to recieve those that prefer email from those that prefer SM for importing into thunderbird

If you export a list from Excel as a csv file, it can be imported to TB. It's a lot easier if you organize the spreadsheet to match the TB address book:

If you don't create separate csv for email and SM contacts, you can create separate address books in TB and copy or move contacts by drag and drop. There's even an address label add-on that might be useful for the SM members.
