The nearby city is Chicago, not Indianapolis as posted. 1 hour time difference. How to fix this issue is what I am asking.

What does this page say about your physical location? https://www.iplocation.net/find-ip-address Then scroll down a bit to see the table of data - IP Address Details.

It could be that your internet service provider has your connection "pegged" to a location that is outside of the NW corner of Indiana (which uses Central Daylight time) - where the rest of the state uses Eastern Daylight time. Correcting the time zone on your PC won't affect what is reported for your IP address.

Fairly common occurrence in somewhat rural areas when the connection to the land line phone system or cable system is made in a different time zone or more distant city than what might be expected. Hell, we have seen an issue like this brought up in northern Washington state where the user was "pegged" as being in Canada. Cheaper to connect across the international border than to "string wire" to a connection point in the US.

Hi VintagePauper, are you having this issue on a web-based mail site in Firefox, or in the Thunderbird email program?

Also, of course, the time changed overnight. Did this problem just start for you today?

Since I purchased Windows 10 last year, I don't understand why my emails in Mozilla Foxfire is always ahead 1 hour. The settings listed are not in my time zone. Since I live near Chicago, which should be indicated, however, the nearby city is Indianapolis which is 1 hour ahead of Chicago time. My computer clock is set correctly as my Microsoft Edge. I was using Windows 7 for years and never had any issues. I wish Foxfire would add Chicago in their time zone.

On some sites, times are calculated by Firefox based on your system settings. On other sites, times are calculated by the server based on your account settings.

Firefox itself doesn't have a time zone setting.
