Images are not displayed. I have checked all settings. When I save the email as HTML the images are in the file. What is wrong.

My husband and I both use Thunderbird. I can see images in emails and if the image is remote I get the option to display remote content. This works for me (as best I can tell all our settings match). But on my husband's email on his PC it does not work. I have checked all the settings I found in postings about this kind of problem. Nothing helped. I saved one of the emails as HTML and the images were there. I need help figuring out what is wrong. We run Windows 10.

I'm glad you got it working, but do the images now appear in messages with the new profile?

I don't know why it's not working, but I suggest you not name folders with -, _ or any other special characters. You can only copy eml files with drag and drop into a folder that appears in the TB folder pane - not a folder that you see in File Explorer.

The folder 2019-03-07_test - 2 shows up in both TB and File Explorer. Do you think it will work?

I will try a folder name without any special characters and see if TB creates a folder that File Explorer can see and not just 2 files. I will let you know.

I tried using TB to create a folder named aaa and TB did not create a folder that File Explorer can see. TB did create the 2 files.

Any more suggestions?

OK this is how I finally got it to work. There must have been something wrong with the Inboxes in the old profile because this worked.

On the old Profile I:

o created 2 new local folders to copy the 2 inboxes and
o copied the contents of the 2 inboxes for my husbands 2 email accounts into the 2 new local folders.

On the new profile I:

o set up the 2 email accounts and options
o created new local folders to match what he had on the old profile
o used File Explorer to copy the files from the old profile to the new profile
