I regret so much to have updated my Thunderbird recently. I cannot delete messages. The guidelines given at the site DOES NOT WORK. What a crap. For so many years, it was working so great. I had two trauma with Microsoft Outlook, that´s why I started using Thunderbird, and now after 5 years, it is like going back in the dungeon. This is the question I want to ask TI guys. Why change if it stops working properly. Is it just to upset customers?

No. There are many reasons to change other than to piss you off. Your appreciation of the reasons or otherwise are not really important but the most important is your own security. That said I have no issues I did not have with the previous version.

I assume you would actually like assistance if making things work as they used to. But you have said nothing about what is not working so such assistance is beyond me. All I can do is address what you have said.

Perhaps we could start again where you tell us what the real problem is.

If it is something to do with not being able to get mail than we are going to want you to copy and paste the troubleshooting information from the help menu.

We will also suggest you try restarting your computer in safe mode as the vast majority of failure to get mail issues after an update are caused by the anti virus, not Thunderbird. You appear to be using Windows 10, so the instructions for trying safe mode with networking are at this link

Dear Matt,

In the previous version, as I clicked on Delete (upper right corner), the email would be deleted and the following email would open up. Now, it is working, but as I click delete (upper right corner), and then click close the email, such email is finally deleted. Then I need to click on the next email to open it. It is now working, thanks! The only difference is that rather than "One click" now it takes 3 clicks to do the same thing. But the important thing is that it works.
