Well basically what it says in the subject.

I already tried with a new profile and then doing a fresh install (after deleting all remaining appdata files), checked the "dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled" setting (it is and has been set to default ("true"). I've also installed firefox portable in order to be completely independent from the usual installation process, all to no avail.

As with previously asked community questions regarding this issue ( https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1233205 or https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1232651 ), I am able to select the text in other browsers (edge) on the affected machine. Another machine, running the very same version of firefox doesn't have this problem.

It is however possible to select text on the aliexpress website after installing the 'Absolute Enable Right Click & Copy" extension. But I would prefer for it to be working 'out of the box' again.

Is there any other remedy that i can try?

second update:

so out of the blue, the problem "fixed" itself.

i visited aliexpress this evening to track an order and could select the text freely again, without any addon. i did not change ANYTHING between this and my previous post on my computer.

so it seems that it has been the website all along...but it is still rather weird that the issue was not reproducible between machines.

anyway, i'm a happy chappy, for now.. somehow the website problems are accumulating for our beloved non-profit browser. stuff like this, and the very recent space-bar button breakage on youtube is giving me an overall awry feeling.

How was the one having issue with firefox upgrade or installed?

The issue came up on an upgraded Firefox, but wasn't present before. Now it happens on a fresh install aswell.

small update:

did a full windows 10 reset (was on my agenda for some time anyway). i installed firefox on this fresh system and used a new untouched profile, the problem still persists!

so it's either firefox's fault or the aliexpress website. however, as mentioned above, i can mark text on another machine without any trouble using the same ff version.

in conclusion: i'm at a loss..
