Multiple prefs-n.js files are being kept in Thunderbird
I get multiple prefs-n.js n=1,2,3etc, files left in my Thunderbird folder when I use Dropbox by modifying profiles.ini. If I stop Dropbox the problem stops and I have no problem on 3 other machines. This has been there for a few months and wouldn't like to say if it was triggered by Dropbox or Thunderbird. It seems to be 3 files every 10 minutes. I currently delete the files with a batch file every few days. Any ideas? Thx

Thunderbird is not intended to have it's profile on slow internet drives. Design and testing is on local drives and disks. It is So using anything else is destined to fail. In this case the files are "locked" probably by not being local, so a new one is created.
I suggest you think of a better way to do whatever it is you are doing. Your chosen method does not work. It will at some point also result in data loss, quite possible of your address book or whole folders of mail that are also "locked"
