How do IAlphabetize contacts when writing an email

When I go to write an email my contact panel used to be in alphabetical order. Now all the names are scrambled out of order. I i go to my address book, outside of the write area, all contacts are in order. How do I correct this problem, please?

You click on column headers to sort on that column. You click the same header a second time to reverse the sort.
