How do I get all my server e-mail to show in Tbird inbox

I recently changed from POP to imap. Now, only recent e-mails show up in my Tbird inbox, then disappear. They remain in my Xfinity inbox. I use iOS and a Mac. I want all my server inbox e-mails to remain in my Thunderbird inbox until I delete them.
