How to block goto-searchitnow.global.ssl.fastly virus/malware?

I seem to be infected with some piece of malware/virus that keeps replacing my homepage and inserting a web address into my list of search engines. This is what gets inserted in both areas:

https://goto-searchitnow.global.ssl.fastly.net/v1/hp?aid=189&data=aWlkPTIwJnVpZD00MDc0NzQ2NA==&tb=1

Does anyone recognize it and how can I block or delete it permanently.

I'm also getting a "Close All Tabs" alert periodically (that keeps popping up after each attempt to cancel it) even though I've made no attempt to close out of Firefox.

After dealing with Advanced Mac Cleaner virus recently, I hope I don't have another battle on my hands.

Tyler,

Thanks. That seemed to work. However, when I restarted my computer, I got a panel that said "Event Manager is not optimized..." (See attached photo)

There was no red corner button to shut the panel and I was reluctant to click on the "Learn More" or "OK" button.

Was that another piece of malware and should I run the software you recommended again?

Thanks VERY much, McCoy.

My pleasure, bijom.

I just noticed that you marked my post as Chosen Solution, but my post did not solve your original problem though - Tyler Downer's answer did ....

You can rectify that by clicking on the "Undo" button (to the right of that post).
