I set Server Settings to "Just mark it as deleted" when I delete a message. But after a minute, it disappears from the Inbox. This started right after a Win 10 reinstall. Using IMAP.

Thank you, christ1, for this answer. However, I use Thunderbird, not Postbox. Still looking for an answer.

Postbox is based on Thunderbird.

As mentioned above, Postbox is derived from TB, but the instructions on the link should work for any program, since they require adjustments on the Gmail website:

"Select "Auto-Expunge off" under the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab in Gmail Settings."

and "Check the "Clean up ('Expunge') Inbox on Exit checkbox in the [same Postbox preferences panel listed above]", i.e. Server Settings in your picture.

thank you both! Seems to work now.
