Text sent, with "text encoding = Unicode" : Véronique

Text received as it appears in the reply of the recipient : Vronique.

And when I click "Reply" on this answer, the "text encoding" is set to "Vietnamese" ! I try with several recipients, the same problem appears, so I understand that it comes from me.

Thanks in advance

The issue I think will be one of 7 bit encoding Vs 8 bit encoding.

Change the config editor preference to mail.strictly_mime = true

It is taking the comparability of your mail beck about a decade, and you might get issues from other mail users. It is not a silver bullet.

Your other choice is to move to a mail provider that is living in the same decade as the rest of use. At this point in Time I think GMX may well be the best provider out there.
