multiple signatures
If I have a conversation that involves a few back and forward emails each time I send my signature is added. Is there any way to just have the signature once?

Account Settings has an option to add (or not) your signature to replies and forwards. But that's a bit of a blunt tool, because you might want to add a signature to your first reply to a conversation.
Given that the built in tools are inadequate, my choice is to use the Signature Switch addon and manually select the appropriate signature when writing. So I use the full blown sig in an initial posting and a shortened version for follow up messages. It also helps choosing between different signatures according to account or addressee.
