I am seeing both Mandarin and English on my Google search page on Firefox. Why is this so? It seems to have happened recently after a Firefox update. How can i revert it to fully English?

Hi, please go to the 3 Bar Menu --> Options --> Language then click on Choose. You should find Mandarin there and be able to move it down the list if you use and if not remove it then restart Firefox.

If that fails to work to your satisfaction you can download the correct language of your choice here :

Uninstall Firefox and reinstall the correct one.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

I done what you advised, both the language option and to reinstall, but it still showing with Mandarin. Pls see attached screenshot. Appreciate your advice. Thank you!

If you have deleted or moved the language pack down and reinstalled a English Firefox from the URL provided then it maybe stuck in your Profile or you have a hijack. Please scan with : https://www.malwarebytes.com/

Note : if you are in China then that is possibly all your going to get as Google has worked a deal with the China Gov to come back provided services in searching and other things still being finalized.

You may have to Click the I (Show Site Information) at left end of Address Bar then the Right Arrow then more Information then Permissions and un-check the box to use Current Location.

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Remove the Cookies" from websites that cause problems:

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Manage Data

"Clear the Cache":

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> Cached Web Content: Clear

See also the language setting on the Google settings (preferences) page.

Would you please go here :

https://www.google.com/preferences?hl=en&fg=1

Scroll down to 'Region Settings' and make sure that your current region is checked.

Then click 'Save' at the bottom of the page.

Does that make a difference  ?
