Firefox is taking up a whooping 13.1 gigs of storage in the windows uninstaller. Is this some kind of installation error or is this supposed to be the actual amount of storage it takes up?

Please note that I have a small 128gig ssd and I storage is quite important to me.

Hi, rather large, mine is 144megs. No information was supplied about Extensions when making the Question.

I would suggest to please : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 61.0.1 with a Full Version Installer

Then please go here and let us know what is going on with your profile : Size of the Folder and size of the files.

Please follow up with that as I think the weight is in there. Someone will be able to help you with that but please list the size. Please let us know the size of Firefox in the uninstaller have a clean install as per above and you may have to Restart your Computer or not to get that info. Thank You.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Since browser data is stored under a completely different path (Windows user profile folder), you should not expect to see a large number there unless Windows' math has gone haywire.

I think the number in the "Uninstall a Program" control panel is roughly the same as the folder size in the Properties dialog for whichever one of these you have:

  • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

What do you find if you compare? (I'm attaching a screenshot of what I see.
