Before closing my Yahoo Account, how can export and save them in Thunderbird?

I want to close my Yahoo account, however I need to save and hold on to my emails and my Yahoo Folders. There is a copy of them in Mac Mail. I need to know how can I import, and save all the email and folders in Thunderbird before closing my Yahoo Account. Please help me with step-by-step direction if possible. Thanks!!!

Make folders under the Thunderbird Local Folders account and copy them there. Make sure you can open and read the messages in Local Folders before deleting them from Yahoo.

I made a new folder under the Thunderbird Local Folders account, but unfortunately the Thunderbird cannot access my yahoo account, because I keep getting the following: "Login to server imap.mail.yahoo.com failed." and I do not know what to do.

Can you log into your accountant Yahoo.com?

While there turn on the option to allow less secure apps.
