The title says it all ! I want to be able, for example, to show a 'half' correctly - not as 1/2. You get to this via 'Insert' in libre office but 'Insert' is greyed out in T'bird. Can insert be brought to life ? Thank you - and by the way I love T'bird.

Insert is greyed out unless you click in the message body. Insert/Characters & Symbols leads to the dialogue seen in the attached picture.

Thank you. That works - but the window which appears on my machine is off to the left and much smaller than the one shown in the picture. Not a serious complaint. Many thanks. E.

If a menu window is clipped or otherwise not showing correctly, start in safe mode (Help/Restart with Add-ons Disabled) in case there's a theme or extension causing it.
