how can i get redoff the adds on my yahoo e mail its driving me crazy?

I am using my laptop always and the adds on the just driving me crazy they taking 1/3 of the screen. I downloaded Firefox thinking it will help but they still keep coming. I click on X or state this add is distracting but they just keep coming...any ideas. Thank you
