I have followed both articles about moving a profile from one computer to another. I have a MBP and an iMac. I have backed up my thunderbird profile on the MBP by locating the folder (it did not give the path), Ctrl + copy onto a stick and then Ctrl + paste into the new profile of the newly downloaded thunderbird profile on the iMac. No local folders show up. It took quite a few minutes to populate the folder but nothing is showing and the local directory address is different to the one on my MBP.

What am I doing wrong please? I need to get these local folder into the iMac as Im wanting to upgrade the operating system on the MBP and the memory is too large.

Thanks for any help offered.

Chosen solution

Presumably that's the problem. Please provide the absolute path of the 'Local Folders' folder in the file system, as well as for the 'Local directory' setting for the 'Local Folders' account on both computers.
