This file contains no user editable information. What is the use case where this is relevant.

Before I answer your question, let me ask you who you are in relation to the Thunderbird-project? Are you a core developer, a maintainer, an employee of mozilla?

I need contact to the Thunderbird developers. Please redirect my to the right place if this support forum is not the right one.

For me your "answer" feels extreme impolite. You are not in the postion to decide who I am, if I can read a file and how I use it or not. Think about it: Maybe I am a possible contributor to the project. Maybe I am a person with patches and ideas.

To answer your question please see my ticket to to get an idea of the use case. Currently I work on a simple script to workaround the bug (or "missing feature").

So can you answer my question?

I am the forum moderator and trying to decide if your question even falls into the realm of "User support" and therefore the forum guidelines or if I should close the topic as a developer request and refer you to the Mozilla Developer Network here https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/

At this point I am leaning to the latter. This is a development question and not related to user support.
