Thunderbird uses the word Junk. By default it marks what it thinks is Junk with a junk icon and places it in your inbox. You can configure Junk Controls to make a Junk folder but that is optional Most providers have a Spam folder. Go to your providers webmail site and log into your account there. Look for a Spam folder there.
