How can I fix INCREDIBLE SLOWNESS displaying emails in just one folder of one Gmail account?
I have four Gmail accounts. The Inbox for just one of those accounts has suddenly started to load very slowly. The little Windows busy signal goes around and around most times when I open TBird or when I move back to that Inbox folder from another folder. When a message finally does appear, the subject and sender notification appear but it takes FOREVER for the actual message to appear.
Further, I discovered when trying to send a message from one account to another to illustrate the problem, that TBird is quite confused. In one of the screenshots, TBird is trying to send a password for a server for an email account that I closed months ago. That account does NOT appear in Account Settings. You can see the account does not match the account that I was trying to send the message from.
I spent some time last night trying to fix the problem by using the "Repair Folder" feature. ALL messages in the folder disappeared, then ever so slowly reappeared, but the problem remained. I tied to make sure I had all the settings under "Account Settings" configured the way Gmail wants them to be, but I'm not sure I accomplished that.
Please see the attachments. I would really appreciate it if you could illustrate the correct settings that I should have to make Gmail happy. Also, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird. Of course I did not select the option to remove all my preferences, settings, whatever. Didn't help. This problem happened some time after the last Windows (Windows 10 Pro 64 bit) huge update and me having to consequently restore my entire system from a system image on an external Hard Drive, using Macrium Reflect Workstation edition. I'll save up for a Mac, but that will take years. BTW, I have run both Check Disk and SFC a few times using Glary Utilities. The PC works better, but not Thunderbird.
Thanks for your help,
Harley

What is the size of your Inbox?
What is your anti-virus software?

Thunderbird doesn't make things up. Even though you deleted an account, presumably the SMTP server which once belonged to the deleted account, still exists. And it's probably still used by an existing account. Check your account settings.

To fix an account settings problem? That's not gonna help.

Of course not. Profile files are stored separately from the Thunderbird program files. The program files are static and do not change (except when you upgrade the Thunderbird application version). Because we store profile and program files separately, you can uninstall Thunderbird without losing your messages and settings, and if something goes wrong with a Thunderbird update your information will still be available. It also means that you don't have to reinstall Thunderbird in order to delete your information or troubleshoot a problem.

First of all, this is a web forum. And it isn't a good idea to post your email address to a public forum, unless you want to attract lots of spam messages.

christ1 Thanks very much for your advice. I edited the email out of that post. Please edit the first part out of you reply thanks.
Secondly, I did all my repair work and settings configurations last night, then gave TBird quite a while to do it's work before shutting down for the night. Then this am it was still taking forever to load messages. I closed TBird and put the PC to sleep for about an hour and a half, and just now when I woke it up and restarted TBird, it loaded all the fresh emails quickly, just like it used to. WTF? Sometimes it's a mystery to me, but I guess we can call the problem solved. I'm sorry to have wasted your time.
