I updated to Firefox 53.0.2 , and now I can't save bookmarks. Or, at least, I can't see them on my Bookmarks Toolbar nor the Bookmarks sidebar. What gives?

I'm running OSX 10.10.5, if that means anything. I love Firefox, but this is driving me nuts.

Hi Stuartxr.

According to your description, seems your toolbar layout got messed up, but it's not hard to fix. ;)

  1. Open the toolbar customization mode.
  2. In the bottom right corner, click the reset button.
  3. Click the toolbars button and select to show the bookmarks toolbar again.

Thanks, but this doesn't seem to fix it either. Couldn't find a "reset" button, only one for "Restore Defaults", but that didn't do it either. Thanks very much for the response, though.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.

  • use "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page

If "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page cannot repair places.sqlite then remove all places.sqlite files Firefox profile folder. Firefox will rebuild places.sqlite and restore the bookmarks from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
