Hello,

Lately I have been experiencing this issue and believe it to be something that resides in my profile or a general bug as I have formatted and reinstalled since the problem started and it persists.

The problem consists of Thunderbird disappearing from view while not in use and although I can use the "right click on taskbar thumbnail / move / then use the keyboard to have it appear on the screen" strategy, it is tedious for a program that I access so often.

Any fix?

Specs: Windows 10 1709 Thunderbird 52.5.2

just a suggestion. Try changing the setting for use hardware acceleration in options > advanced > general

There is no "right" setting, as the setting is not only hardware, but driver revision dependent, so a system update could change it from right to wrong. When it is not right odd graphics glitches appear, but on other drivers either setting is good.
