On a desktop using Firefox I can view and manage the certificate database for firefox. Can that same function be done on Android specificaly Lolipop?

I don't think you can inspect a cert with Firefox for Android the same way as with the desktop version. You'll have to rely on the Site Identity button. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/how-do-i-tell-if-my-connection-is-secure
