I CANNOT uninstall firefox to install a new version. the message that comes up is "firefox is running, you first have to close it", or something like that.

Go to Task Manager and see what is running. Click on any Firefox Icons then End Task

Issue says stays running possible malware that can do this like bitcoin miners. Please use more than 1 scanner as each uses diff tech :

sorry, Firefox does NOT show up in Task manager. I ran Micro Safety, Malewarebytes, Superantispyware. And Norton is running permanently. No malware detected. I repeat: I cannot install a new version of Firefox nor uninstall it because I first have to close Firefox. And I cannot close Firefox because it is not running. seems like catch 22.
