My e=mail says "send later". How do I do this?

I have compiled an e-mail with the correct address , spelling, etc , but but when I go to send it it says "send later" at the top left hand corner of my screen. How do I send it now.

Chosen solution

The send button changes to send later when Thunderbird is offline. There is an icon in the lower left corner that indicates online status. Clicking that icon changes state.
