if i restore my pc, will i lose my saved emails?

i need to do a factory restore. will the emails i have saved be lost in the restore? i have two hard drives (or some such construct) and when i do a factory restore, i generally only have to do the c drive and not the d drive. is there anyway i can transfer everything over to the d drive where i know it will be safe? i have an ASUS laptop.

Backup your Thunderbird profile prior to factory reset (whatever that means). https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profiles-where-thunderbird-stores-user-data#w_backing-up-a-profile

Restore your profile afterwards. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profiles-where-thunderbird-stores-user-data#w_restoring-a-profile-backup
