Each time I open firefox it downloads an update but does not install it. Update history says "Install Pending." The solution on Firefox help is to go to: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/, but I don't know what to do at this site. It just allows one to download Firefox in any language of your choice. I tried to open a Firefox account to ask a question, received a confirmation email, had account confirmed, but am unable to sign in using username/password. I just opened a new account using an old email address that I would prefer not to keep using. If I sound hopeless at this stuff, it is because I am-- apologies.

Chosen solution

At this site http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ download Firefox 64 if your system is 64bit or 32bit if that is what the system is. That is determined by what Operating System you installed.

So download it and run the installer.

If that does not fix anything, guess what will have to do the same thing in this one : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
