i fresh installed my win10.

so i fresh installed thunderbird. 52.4.0 (32-bit)

i get emails... with links (job offers). so i click on links and the links open INSIDE thunderbird in TABS. it's slow. it's laggy. i don't want this anymore. the laptop (an i7 machine with ssd and 16 gigs of ram) starts to rev up... fans are working full power...

i googled for the best part of an hour but cannot find information on this issue.

I NEED THIS TO STOP. thunderbird is an EMAIL CLIENT... not a browser.

i couldn't find in setting NOTHING about this. come on mozilla... don't send us towards Outlook...

Chosen solution

Do you have the 'Thunderbrowse' addon extension installed?

'Menu icon' > 'Addons' select 'Extensions'; the icon looks like a jigsaw piece. Locate 'Thunderbrowse' and click on 'disable' or 'remove' button. At the prompt, restart Thunderbird.

well... i went and uninstalled all mozilla programs. all of them. deleted ALL directories (i mean all of them - in program files, user/local - roaming) and i cleared all the registries by searching for mozilla.

after that i manually installed thunderbird and no more problems.

but i'll keep in mind the solution above. now i only have :lighninng" as an addon.

thank you for your support!
